-I keep my friends list small, as I really only add people I get along with.
-I dont trade my items nor do I normally contact traders. It's my decision to sell them or not, you won't convince me to trade you.
-Don't go adding me looking for handouts(read: games), only actual friends get gifts from me and I'm pretty good at sniffing out people.
-If your chill and we have a great time in-game I will probably add you or accept a friend request.

Please don't take it wrong if I'm reticent or cagey about adding you. Been around long enough that I tend to be pretty suspicious of people I don't know on steam.
