Even after all these years, it still holds up.

Ever since I was a kid, every time I play this game I get completely hooked and immersed, and am always filled with a sense of wonder and excitement.

There is so much to do, and so many hours worth of content. You can snowboard, ride a motorcycle, ride a chocobo, race, breed chocobos, explore underwater in a submarine, and so much more.

The fighting itself is awesome, and is my favourite fighting system out of all the FF games. It's turnbased for the most part (though you can slightly tweak it), but it's very slick and fast paced. As long as you know what you're doing (and use your money + items wisely), it shouldn't be too hard.

As for the port, it's pretty darn good. The graphics have been tweaked a bit, and there are many little improvements. The use of a controller is quite nice, and since I play with a PS3 one if feels very much like the PSX game.

The only downside so far is that, far as I can hear, nearly all of the music has been "updated". Unfortunately, to me it sounds terrible, and takes away a lot of the feel for the game.
Fortunately there is a mod you can get to restore the original music; it takes a bit of time but it's completely worth it.

All in all, if you love FF and/or RPG's, please try this one. It may be a little old, but it is still such an incredible game.

Ever since the game first came out, I was always curious about it. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to play it until this year. It's a really fun game that still holds up to this date.

Despite it being 8 years old, the graphics are still great. Occasionally you can tell that it HAS aged, but it has aged very gracefully. The style is quite unique, and the animations are smooth. Personally, my favourite thing about the appearance of the game is the face and facial animations. Every character is unique, and lovingly detailed.

For the gameplay, it's pretty varied. The combat is a little quirky, but for me it never gets frustrating. It's also not too hard; f I get stuck on a part there's always someone or something to guide my way. There are a lot of skills to use and you're rarely forced to stick to one, which is great.
The platforming can get a bit difficult, but for the most part that's pretty fun as well.
Sometimes the controls can be a little iffy, but generally they don't get in the way of enjoyment.

The game itself is pretty varied; there are exploration and collecting parts, fighting parts, and unique little minigames to enjoy. There are many worlds to explore, and each one is different than the other, and isn't a simple cut-and-paste re texture job that so many games tend to do. They really capture the mind of the person you're helping, and they all have a different feel to them.
There's also a lot of side quests to do, and places to explore. I usually just spend a lot of time at the camp, collecting things and trying to get to new places. The game offers a lot of diversity, and it's great.

I'm usually indifferent to most stories in games, but for this one I found it very interesting. It's not groundbreaking, though the idea itself is pretty intriguing. I haven't beaten it yet so I can't comment on the ending, but so far it has a great pace. The dialogue is also very amusing.
I should also mention that this can be a pretty dark game. Nothing wrong with that; for me it made me love the game even more.

I really love the voice acting for this game. Nearly everyone nailed their character, and had great timing. A couple of characters were okay, but for the most part everyone was awesome.

All in all, it's a really different, fun game that I wish I had played sooner.
