As for scanning, I did start off with that as well. Scanning works, but the sooner you get a tablet, the better.

Yo! I saw your question on Scrap.tf and I just wanted to give you some tips. I use Paint Tool Sai, but that costs money, so I recommend Krita. For Tablets I use a Cheap Huion tablet. it works for me! I hope I helped!
