This game is a good 8/10. It is far better than Dying Light 2, and feels closer to Dying Light 1 but not fully. My complaints are quite minor. The biggest flaw Dying Light 2 had was the world design. The design of buildings was very copy-paste and didn't feel organically lived in, especially interiors, and exteriors weren't much different. The beast feels like an actual world, with organically placed items in buildings and houses. Clutter and layouts that feel more life like rather than deliberately placed by hand. That's the biggest improvement. The forest and natural wild life setting is also a refreshing direction for the series when both previous titles were largely urban jungles navigating buildings and streets in cities. Physics have been improved dramatically, but don't fully feel like Dying Light 1 in body reaction. I attribute this as an engine problem, though there are mods that are altering things to feel a bit better.

As for my complaints. The skill tree could use a few more options. One of the best QoL perks from DL1 was left out that being a perk that sped up looting animation. 90% of this game is spent looting. You will be holding F basically every minute. The upside to this is Instant Escape was brought back, and a perk that makes parkour faster. But instant escape does not work the same as DL1 and has worse functionality. DL1s escape could prevent the grab fully whereas The Beast the ability is only executable after being fully grappled. My last complaint being that many finishers are modified versions of the ones from DL2 with only one new one in addition to the recent update adding a few more new ones.

I didn't buy the DLC and give it a positive rating purely out of some protest everyone else is doing to get Sony to make a sequel. I'm judging the DLC based on content included and value it adds to the existing game. It doesn't really add anything of value outside of like 2 game modes and a couple cosmetics. This is only worth maybe 5 dollars.
