Erm... because I can?
Company of Champions (up to 50% difficulty increase on your bonfire level) on bonfire intensity 99.
Piece of cake.
The Darklurker is down. Without a doubt the hardest boss in the base game in my opinion. I killed every single last one and that one made me feel hopeless.
If that is not enough, currently I am farming:
Souls... Memory of Jeigh... currently the bonfire is at NG+8 and counting, so the boss is as strong as you can get.
Covenant item... Sun Medals... oh my, it takes ages.
The pain... the pain.
Struggled a bit and then got some advice from Youtube. Updates have made this a bit more challenging to execute, but I figured out the easy melee tactic with the new challenges.
1. Stand between the inner two toes of a back leg. Attack, but save stamina.
2. When he lifts that foot, run to the other back foot standing between the outer two toes.
3. The foot will move so you stand between the inner two toes. Attack, but save stamina.
4. Repeat this process until he starts to fly up, then immediately run towards his tail. You should miss his fire attack.
5. Once the fire attack is done, run back again to a back foot and repeat the steps.
Easy. Very easy.
DS1 went very well. Back-stabbed every Silver Knight in Anor Londo and broke some furniture while doing it too.
DS3 started out very well. Downed the base game's final boss with not too much effort. Then I went farming... still need 4 million souls to heal my Dark Sigil to look human again. First enemy I encounter, a simple Ascended Winged Knight, owned, wrecked and trashed me. And again. And again.
It took me 5 runs to get back in the swing of things.
Yes, I suck.
And the DS3 slogan does apply to my skill... "the fire fades".
Time to put some fuel on that fire and burn the Kingdom of Lothric down again!
DS2 took a different approach. Different in many ways to DS1, only the easy things (like weapon upgrades) moved over to DS3 with the latter be a lot like the first. The game's torture is divine in another spectrum of colours. A view of the Dark Souls hell, but from another hill looking down into the abyss.
It is not the ruling classic that is the first, neither the gorgeous and refined which is the third. This is the nightmare in its own defined glory.
But... my message to the Nameless King:
"Sorry, buddy. This ain't no game of thrones... this is the game of death!"
Base game has all bosses (including optional) down except the last one that completes the game.
Ring count is on par for achievement unlock in NG++.
Ashes of Ariandel done... even though it only has two boss fights.
Still need to start The Ringed City... and I fear it quite a bit.
I have a love-hate relationship with The Ringed City. Its hard as hell, but it does a great job of making up for the base game being so super easy.
I completed Sirris's quest line. Although short, it is something different and has a personal touch to it. One would wonder what the story is behind her actions.
Then there is triggering the End of Fire ending. This is also a very interesting affair with another change then added to the world. Makes the safe haven suddenly feel like a place where there is no hope due to your decision.
Dark Souls III does indeed have some deep stories well hidden like the original title.
Struggled with him quite a bit in NG. With the above gear and obviously higher stats, first time kill in NG+.
