i wouldn't necessarily recommend this game at such a price - definitely more worth it to buy on some kind of sale - but i enjoyed the gameplay more than i thought i would. at the time i bought this, the reviews were mixed and a lot of people were posting negative reviews, so i was worried about whether i'd have to refund it or not, but i didn't and here are my thoughts on it:

this pretty much can be said about any game, but the gameplay is subjective - it tends to be repetitive despite the new enemies, so if you dislike repetitive combat, keep that in mind. there are new characters to unlock with new strategies, but some are incredibly annoying to use (i'm looking at you mother brain).

adding on to the above, near the end of the game you need to finish side quests with every character on your team. this is what demotivated me to play the game for a bit, so i held off on finishing it (i didn't finish it yet at the time i'm writing this review either lol). from what i know, there are two times you need to do this. the first time isn't too bad if you have the hold of the basics, but the second time is horrible because so many enemies spawn and it's very difficult to do with characters like extra that don't have the ability to dash since i rely on it a lot during combat.

the bosses weren't too difficult (again, this is if you've got the hang of the game). only the first boss was to me, but that's probably because my stats were still low, it got easier later on. i played on action gamemode and it did take some time for most bosses, but i was so focused on finishing it that honestly it did enough of a good job at entertaining me.
the dialogue in the game is incredibly corny and same goes for the story - very cliche and this game isn't something i would recommend story-wise - but i've grown fond of the characters, even though some are quite poorly written. it's also a shame because you can tell what the ending is just from the beginning.

it's nice that there are various areas to explore, but my problem with it is the fact that you are confined to the stages within the story. this was kind of a bummer because i was hoping for it to be an open world tbh, with the pixel art this game has it would surely be absolutely gorgeous since i already love the graphics

in general, i found this game fun but it definitely has its flaws, especially for such a price. i don't want to be too harsh on the creator, and since i did enjoy it, i decided i'll put up a positive review. story was eh, combat is okay but gets repetitive over time (though to be honest it can even get exhausting if you're on action gamemode, i feel like i should have chosen adventure instead for my first gameplay but i guess at least it was more entertaining even if tiring), pixel art is great, i like the mechanics and the fact that you can decorate your camp and even cook for buffs. though speaking about buffs there is an issue where sometimes for a character specific side quest it randomizes buffs that don't even work for the character. for example, a riko side quest and it generates buffs for hyke lol. it's annoying but it can be fixed, and it doesn't bother me much.

i also come here as an isekaijoucho fan, so i definitely recommend it if you also like her. the fact orie drew and designed the characters, let alone that hyke looks so much like isekaijoucho, should definitely appeal to fans (just like it did to me). i fell in love with hyke right away thanks to the resemblance she bears to joucho. i still have not finished the game myself but i played enough to be able to form a fair opinion about it, and if you actually play it instead of complaining right away it can be quite fun!

this game probably represents high school the most realistically out of any other games
