127 hours on steam, a good amount more before it came to steam. Dwarf fortress is one of those games that I come back to every few months. I would basically recommend this game to anyone willing to sit down and at least learn it which is rather easy now with the built in tutorial, clickable GUI, and non-ASCII graphics.

Early Access Review
This game is great right now, it is quicker than many similar roguelites having not a ton of exploration, just two doors that move between rooms.

The thing that makes this game really great is that it has smooth movement and aim, there are some finicky controls, but overall movement is very fluid. This smooth movement is something that I have been missing since I 100% Enter The Gungeon on the switch and no other game quite has it down pat, this game is VERY close though.

A tip for the controls: I recommend rebinding the first quickslot (normally up dpad) to L3/left stick click so you can have an item/weapon swappable without needing to take your finger off the movement stick or the dodge trigger.

The meta-progression in this game is pretty simple overall, but is good. The dev said in the Early Access description that they would be adding more classes, weapons, equipment items, traits and floors so I hope to see some type of item unlock system to add a bit more progression and maybe item synergies.

I think my only real complaint right now is the difficulty, it is generally pretty low. I'm biased with all the roguelites ive played though. Some bosses are over/under tuned like the dragon's speed or bullet count could be reduced a bit as an example. Even when the bosses are overtuned like the dragon though if you build enough health/resurrections you can just face tank it, but that isnt as fun as understanding the bullet patterns and being able to move between them.

The game also has a ton of references to other games, whole lot of souls references some Vampire Survivors references and some EtG references which are pretty neat with how they are implemented.

Overall it is a very solid game - if you want a quick roguelite and love EtG I would 100% recommend picking this up. A huge thanks to the developer for making this and continuing to update it, I can't wait to see where this game can go.
