When I think back to when I first played this game the thing that comes to mind was running through the halls trying to escape from the monster. Which now that I think about it wasn't really the point of the game, those mechanics were literally boiled down to place a glowy wall in chase or just closing a few doors.

But Idk running through the halls, a bud and I, with a simple objective of grabbing a few things and getting them to their destination, setup us up well. You would think this idea gets old which it does honestly so I'm hoping there is a little more in the full release. What ends up happening though is you guys start together laughing and joking looking for items but eventually you will have to separate which is where the tension kicks into play and that is heighten with the proximity chat (well duh... but it works well it trust me). I haven't played many games in this playstyle this make me want to try them more.

The story was a little none existent in my opinion, yea there are notes here and there but that isn't really a good way to present your story unless you want your story to be some what of an after thought or just for the more dedicated players. Well what do I mean by that, most people don't really care about a new game unless it was something they were waiting to come out, so when presented with a series of random notes that you yourself must piece together most people just opt to play the game without paying much attention to the story. Well that sounds lazy and it kind of is but it is also a bit lazy on the devs part, what do I mean. You don't really "want" to care about the story, nothing in this game is cool or intriguing that would make you wonder and stop for a second like "maybe I should pay attention to these notes, that one part right that was kind of cool". I mean you could say "to each their own" but this game is just a fetch quest demo so like there's not a lot to go off on. That is until you get to the dinning room and find a room full of similar looking creatures as the monster that is chasing you. There is a really big one sitting at the head, but for some reason they aren't attacking you. Anything you would probably see or read in this room may stick a little bit (that is if the player wasn't already trained to ignore notes already). This was the time where my brain was like "what tf... what is actually happening here". I wonder how the full game does this, maybe a few simple cutscenes would help. But what would help way more, is less notes and more show pieces like that. I mean unless the point of the story is to be more for those who want to seek the story.

At the end of the day this game isn't amazing but if you have a bud or 2 you will have fun, and honestly it won't be too bad to play by yourself. It has creepy moments and it is pretty immersive. If you have 30-40mins, for sure try this one out.
