Okay, everyone!

Firstly, if you are looking for a full review of the base game of DDLC, I have an in-depth review HERE
It’s worth mentioning that the original DDLC is not only free but is still available to download both on steam and the official DDLC site. I am only going to be reviewing what’s new and since I’ve finally 100%ed DDLC+, now is a better time than any to do so.

What You Get
What you are essentially buying here is a version of the game made for consoles. It contains the entirety of the original DDLC alongside the newly added virtual desktop, which is where all the new content can be found. New content includes virtually editing the games files, side stories, a virtual mailbox, a picture gallery and a music player. All of which I will detail under the virtual desktop section. Achievements have also been added, most are rather simple, and it took me around 18 hours to complete them all just because I like to take my time reading.

The Virtual Desktop
It should be somewhat common knowledge by now that DDLC requires you to manually edit the game files in order to progress in the story, however this cannot be done on consoles. This is where the virtual desktop comes into play, as it functions like a desktop within the game itself, allowing you to delete and open the games files as you would normally, but allowing consoles accessibility too! The best part is, when the game SPOILER: gets deleted, you can easily reset everything instead of having to manually reinstall the game. I find this is quite a nice quality of life change for me, as I have had to reinstall the base game many times. Along side the games files, the other content found on the desktop include:

The Side Stories - that expand the lore and act as a backstory of sorts.

A Virtual Mailbox - where you receive lore expanding emails for reaching data collection milestones.

A Picture Gallery - for all the CG’s, poems and secrets you collect while playing.

And a Music Player - to play the games soundtrack of 27 songs total (some need to be collected)

Side Stories
The side stories are probably the main reason why you would consider buying DDLC on PC, as mentioned before the base game is free. DDLC+ is basically a DDLC DLC, an expansion on what’s already there with the only reason for it being a new game in its entirety is to be sold on consoles.
Here I will explain exactly what these side stories are, beyond them being just backstory. No spoilers for them but it will spoil the main plot of DDLC, so this is mainly for people who have already played DDLC and looking to understand exactly what is being expanded here. Due to the fact that in universe, DDLC is a game, the side stories act more as fanfictions rather than cannon. Potentially acting as false memories for the characters who are all implied to be repurposed ai. I’m not extremely well versed in the lore, so I may be slightly wrong, this is what my impression was at least.

Final Verdict
Naturally, I am completely bias in my love for DDLC, so obviously I can recommend DDLC+… to the fans. I’m not sure if I can entirely recommend DDLC+ to the general pc market, as the main content is free for everyone and what you are paying for here is essentially fan service material. To someone just interested in playing and experiencing DDLC, there’s no real reason to pay for DDLC+ when you can just play DDLC for free and walk away with the same experience. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed between versions in the gameplay outside the virtual desktop.
I am also somewhat disappointed however that now a paid version of the game didn’t take advantage of badges, trading cards, backgrounds and emoticons, as that would have been something I would have absolutely loved.
Despite all this, DDLC+ is not a disappointment. For me I bought and paid for exactly what I wanted, an expansion on the original game. And obviously I can recommend DDLC+ to console gamers as this is the only way to experience it for them.
Obviously, I recommend this game to DDLC fans, but with full disclosure to new players dipping their toes into DDLC, the base game is free. DDLC+ is premium fan service and you aren’t missing out on much if you are looking for the famous psychological horror fun poem writing experience that is Doki Doki Literature Club!

A bakery of cookies / 10.
If you love cookies, it’s the greatest thing ever, but not everyone needs a bakery. Some just needs a box to be happy, and that’s alright 😊

I wish they added a Steam Points Shop with Profile Backgrounds and maybe emoticons or whatever. Badges would be quite a stretch but to be fair, I do waste a lot of money on badges and Steam Levels so maybe I can't comment on the badge part.
