Stray is a breath of fresh air and I am so glad I got to experience it. It's easy to tell that the developers put a lot of love and care into this game.
Thank you so much for that.

Each segments of the walled city you get to explore have so much character and stories to tell, and that's just from the details of the environment alone. The music and the sound design lay down the mood of each scene even further. I found myself at a few segments, just admiring the area I was in and listening to the ambience.
Your companion or an NPC might sprinkle in some dialogue of what’s going on, but the viewer is able to absorb it and interpret it on their own.

For a lot of the NPCs I felt like I was talking to a "person" more often than I was a robot/AI, and that they all had their own story to tell. I especially enjoyed seeing their reactions if the Stray had done something particular in their vicinity, that was a fun little detail that made the world feel that much more alive.

The story itself is not too complicated, but not overly simple either. They hit a nice middle ground that still made the game very unique.
It’s not often I can care for a character or event in a story, but I do still consider myself a huge softie for the more compelling ones, so there were a couple moments that I couldn't help but have a genuine cry.

The puzzles in this game aren't particularly hard, but they are still clever and engaging. Stray managed to fit them right with the environment so they don't feel forced at all.

I've played a lot of cat games, but not many have truly nailed the "cat behavior" like Stray does.
The effort and research the team did behind the scenes really make this game stand out with how believable the cats are. There is a lot of passion that this team had for cats, and it easily translated into Stray.

The Stray cat's reactions felt appropriate for each situation the player was put into. The optional interactions only heightened that "cat experience" for me. I only wish he got more pets and a treat after all his hard work.
The animations of the Stray were particularly well done, they felt natural and were overall very fluid.
There are a lot of intricate nooks and crannies that the Stray can get into, and higher places for cat parkour, the transitions for that environment were for the most part pretty seamless as well.
I truly was able to feel immersed in being a cat while playing through it.

I've had a couple bugs in my playthrough, but it wasn't anything gamebreaking. My system had a few framerate drops when loading into a new area, but overall ran smoothly on the highest settings at 1440p. I find it impressive that the game feels this polished on a launch day, but I understand results may vary. In the future I hope the developers work to optimize their game just that much more.

I highly recommend this game to cat lovers most of all, but also to those who want a change of pace and enjoy a simple, but fun and rich experience.

For an indie game of this quality, I feel the price is fair and very deserving.
