It was on September 30, 1948 that Tex's first story appeared. It was called "Il Totem Misterioso" (in Italian, "The Mysterious Totem"). With the balloon "By all means, are they still behind my back?" began the saga of one of the most famous cowboys in comics. From 1948 to 1967 there were 36 stories in the format of weekly strips. At first, Tex rode alone, his horse Dynamite didn't even have a name and he was an outlaw.
