Could of been a great game if it ever had been finished... I have loved playing this game from the moment i picked it up in early access but the game crashing bugs have ruined it for me and with no further progress being made on it makes this game as well as other games by this Dev to risky to be of intrest.

Pros:

-Great ship costimization, I have a titan design soly made to disable other capitals while the smaller ships chew it up.
-enjoyable diplomacy
-flexible in game play


Cons:

-Game crashing bugs
-some what confusing UI, till you get used to it.
-not so many techs (can be ether or but i like alot of choice.)
-some of the races were not fully finished when i played and im not going out of my way to look at them again
-unfinished

so all and all good game if it was actually finished, i dont recommend getting this or the next one as it looks the same...

Have you tried the Blackbox mod?
I am one of the Blackbox developers and we took it upon ourselves to make the game better. We are working on this for free, as a hobby and because we think the game concept was really good, but the code quality was lacking.
Blackbox mod is actually direct code changes to the game (yes, we have been working on the code with permission from the dev for several years by now).
We fixed a lot of bugs/crashes and added many new features to the game.

Maybe you'll find Stardrive with Blackbox (and the Combined Arms content mod, which I also helped develop) a more pleasing game to play.
