Nice little visual novel. I enjoyed it and Chris Avellone enjoyed and backed it.. I defer to his judgement.. ;)

Let me be clear. I would recommend this game, but sadly.. only just. I have to agree with a lot of negative points raised by other reviews as well.

The feel and the music is awesome, but the puzzles and generally the "logic" of the game are really ruining the experience for me.. I don't want to be nit-picking as I am not a huge fan of this genre, but... Why on earth would you have supposedly quirky and funny puzzles (that are not really hard even in veteran mode) and real out-of-place "paraller universe" inventions (armored car chase anyone?) and factology, when you (quite rightly so) boast about all the cooperation with historians and archives. Also, the story line is interesting but the amount of clichés and overall predictiveness kind of let it down. For example, since the devs already spoiled "some will not" in trailer, you can guess who that will be pretty early in the game..

These are only my personal let-downs, since I was really looking forward to play this game and it just didn't live up to all the hype and expectation.

BUT:
The story can be moving,
You can learn some new and interesting facts about WW1 even if you are already interested in the topic.
It generally raises the awareness about the horrors of the Great war, which is good and long overdue.
It is pretty streamlined and already mentioned fell and music of the game are big plus points.
Uplay for once worked okay (still annoying though)

So just play it and see for yourself.. :)

So i finally got to play this and at first I was disapointed how badly it aged.. tOn top of that he vanilla campaign is not that good, but WarChiefs and Asian Dynasties are fine and you can squeeze a lot of playtime out of the game even withouth any campaign.. But 40 Euros is very steep.. wait for some kind of deal..

I was looking very much to try State of Decay and although it didn't fully live up to expectation it is still the best game in the genre.
Yeah, there are plenty of glitches and task are getting very repetitive (luckily later in game you can pretty much ignore let's say 3out of 5), but Undead Labs gave it their best shot an they did allright. It's a complex open world zombie survival game and they got it almost spot on. Also before some thing start to annoy you later on, the feel of the game is just right (absence of save system helps it a lot). So I am looking forward to play next game from these guys.. :)

At first I did not want to recommend this game. But come on. If you buy it on sale and it is like for 2Euros, than it has plenty of content, surprisingly good crafting system and can be fun in co-op. Plenty of modes will keep you occupied if you need casual action zombie game and do not have anything other on hand. HOWEVER. The "story" is so predictable and even thoug it is trying way too obviously and way too hard not to take itself śeriously. I am that kind of player who wants to finish the game no matter what, and most of the time I like to collect most of the achievements. With this game I could not be bothered and even though i have als El Diablo Islands DLC which shouldb be like 4,5 hour long. I just don't wan't to play it anymore, ale least not in singleplayer.. So yeah, mixed feelings..

I have to say that I wasn't expecting much from the game. Just some GTA clone set in Asia. Well, I was wrong.. very wrong. The story lets you really connect with Wei and spend long hours in very thought-out Hong Kong. I was never a fan of malee combat systems, but here it is very well implemented and, above all, it is fun. Enjoy it :)
