As of the recent announcement of removing the economy from the game, I really can't believe it's a game we were originally promised. Even though it's still in EA removing one of the most essential selling points of the game with almost 0 community feedback is absurd. They promised way too much for it to be believable, my only hopes was that it’d be atleast implemented in the future but they’re straight up cutting it entirely.

Edit: Felt like more needed to be said. The product category effectively has changed. Even if the replacement single-player systems are well designed, they are solving a different problem than the one originally marketed. The value proposition that justified my purchase no longer exists in the form that was communicated during Early Access.

My reaction isn’t about resisting change or assuming bad intent. I understand that development direction evolves. The issue is expectation alignment: the foundation I invested in has been replaced, not iterated on. For anyone that was sold on this, whether it was content creators screaming about it or the SEVERAL technical demonstrations stating that SPECIFIC feature, progression architecture is a core motivational structure. Without it, the experience becomes comparable to existing sandbox sims that already compete in that space, which removes the unique reason I chose these promises.
