On top of everything that the other reviews are talking about, I genuinely find it very hard to believe that the dialogue wasn't generated with Gen AI. IMDB has 1 voice actor listed for the female protag but I haven't found any for other characters. The writing itself is so... odd. Unnatural and uninteresting, I don't really know how to describe it. It's just all around so mid.

There isn't a gacha system but it has VERY gacha like microtransactions, monthly passes, limited time costumes, etc. It very much feels like the kind of game that doesn't care about its f2p players and doesn't even try to pretend to. The game starts with very limited hair options and 1 default outfit but don't worry! There are 4 others you can already buy with real world money( 10USD for the cheapest one)! It's all about what I expected when I found out during pre-release that it'd have microtransactions. Annoying and disappointing but not surprising.

The mechanics aren't anything to write home about. Movement's clunky but not absolutely terrible. The tutorial feels endless, I'm level 33 and feel like the story is still just tutorial. Besides the possibility of GenAI, this has been the biggest thing that's turned me away from the game so far. For an open world game, the story so far feels agonizingly linear; Point A -> Point B -> Lectured about mechanic -> Repeat. I've gone off to explore on my own but over and over I'm herded back to the main story so I can get a new mechanic that I need to explore more. If this much hand holding is needed in your game, maybe you should just rethink your mechanics a bit.

Overall, besides being possibly dishonest about GenAI usage, this game's biggest crime is just being forgettable.
