I was impressed at the depth of this game. I was expecting a very simple driving model, but within a few minutes of playing I realized that the driving model is deep enough to give the player a lot of the key components of rally driving. Weight transfer is modelled, allowing you to tuck the nose in by lifting of the gas, or if more rotation is required, stabbing the brakes. Weight transfer also allows for the scandinavian flick. The e-brake is modelled, for when weight transfer isn't enough and more low speed rotation is required. The clutch is modelled, which allows for clutch-kicking to get the rear out, similar to using the e-brake but when you want to gain speed/radius instead of decrease.

I was not expecting to get much enjoyment out of the game since I'm accustomed to the realism of rally sims, and also real life rallycross. But they've got just enough of the core driving tools to make it interesting.

My only complaint so far is that some of the engine sounds are terrible. In a game trying to distill rallying to just a few core pillars, with sound being one of them, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Cars with very unique engine sounds like 911s and Imprezas have very generic 4-cylinder-like sounds in this game and it kind of takes me out of the experience.

TL;DR:
Pros: More realistic driving model than expected, with tools such as weight transfer, e-brake, clutch kicking allowing you to sort of drive the car like you would want to in an actual rally sim.

Cons: Engine sounds on some cars with very unique engine sounds in real life, instead have very generic sounds in game that take you out of the experience.

Summary: Really fun and complex enough for someone that's used to rally sims or real life rallycross/stage rally.
