I won't comment on the story, I'm sure many people have already told it in the reviews.
I think this is my ~5th time finishing this game (S1 and S2) and I still feel the emotion after finishing S2 (Suikoden 2).

The Remastered Version feels amazing, of course it brings the nostalgic feel.
Many assets (character, 3D environment, additional reflections) feel like they were remade. The UI style between games is also same, make them more like sequel (I think the old versions were different).

Many QoL improvements that help you enjoy the story like being able to walk diagonally, simple but helpful, in the S2 Event later (the only one I remember is the L'Renouille Escape), I think you will laugh about this. But there are still many fixes that should be there but aren't such as:
- No auto run setting (you have to keep holding the Run button).
- Have to play mini games with Gamepad (not a big deal, since I mainly use Gamepad to play games).
- And many more that were fixed in S2, but not in S1 such as you can't cancel elevator dialogue and also it's not efficient if you only move one floor. You can't directly upgrade other characters, change their equipment/inventory from your base. And much more. But all of that has been fixed in S2. I don't know why.

But again, I'm sure the developer will fix this later.
S2 also has more beautiful art in my opinion, there's more detail about the environments there. You must play S2 because it's the best Suikoden for many people (but of course, it's better to finish S1 first completely to get the full experience and know all the character backgrounds).

I also have some maybe useful tips before playing the game:
- First, I was just shocked after trying the battle first time, you could get 1 Hit KO before doing anything in Hard difficulty battle, but only in the very first S1 when you're still alone, after that, that is still balance and Hard is the difficulty that I think is best to enjoy the battle.
- Don't forget to stop the Event Timer before playing the S2 to make you not worry about your playtime for 100% Completion.
- There is no warning before some character missed, so use the save slots to make you easier to load the progress when that happens.
- It still has suck or "old" RNG, no pity rate just like current gacha game, you can get a very long time like to recruit a character that needs a specific dropped item or if you are a completionist person that you want to collect all the items (including inside minigame) and achievements.
- Especially in S1, get Kai to grind easily with the main character. I don't know in the S2 characters that has the same easy method. But you can use many rune combinations to make the character reach its potential in S2. If you recruit Stallion, you can use a fast run in the world map and unlock the x3 battle I guess if I am not wrong, because the game won't tell you about this.

Again, Awesome Remaster! Take my money for the next S3, S4, S-Tactics, S5 Remasters (or even Remake)!
