Sweat dripped from the end of my nose, after another intense ranked match. I know what you're thinking, "what sport is he playing in?" and I'll answer that simple question with an unorthodox answer, I'm playing an esport. This particular esport happened to be my favorite video game so playing felt more like goofing off, enjoying game itself and having fun doing it. The games became so intense that the my team, the opponents, and I would all end up drenched from the struggle between minds and the effort and follow through of every action attempted on the now drenched controllers used. Sweat stained the shirts of all of us as we took our 60 second break between matches, guzzling water like our lives depended on it, readying ourselves to take on another challenge, fearing that we could end up trapped in our current ranks, and that we would never progress further up the skill ladder. ​
