The Pros:
Chants of Sennaar takes the best parts of games like The Witness, Outer Wilds, and Myst, and wraps it in a world of simplistic yet challenging language comprehension. Like any good puzzle game, mastery over its mechanics makes the player feel like a genius, and the game design allows for players to freely explore, experiment, and work out solutions at their own pace.
The art design, sound design, and general visual scheme is a great backdrop to all of this puzzle-solving, as its simplistic visuals allow the player to think freely without distraction.

The Cons:
A couple areas borrow some tedious elements from early puzzle games: maze-sections, chase sequences, number memorization; personally, those sections aren't for me, but I know that some people really enjoy them.
A few sections of the game require backtracking, and while the game gives the opportunity to affect the landscape to make the backtrack less repetitive, it still feels like a long run to get to where you're going.

All in all this is a great 10 hour puzzle game that has some universal themes of the nature of language and humanity, and I just feel bad that I'll be unable to talk to anyone in all the languages I just learned.
