Having played a lot of this game already you'd think I've got my money's worth, but if I could go back in time I'd absolutely never buy it in the first place. Icarus is a lot of hype and the first few hours is a lot of fun, but then it quickly becomes a mindless and unenjoyable grind that feels far more like a chore than a game. I kept playing in hopes the harder missions became fun and what I can say definitely, they do not become more fun.

This game is just a mining and running simulator masquerading as a survival game. If you like running in straight lines for hours and mining in the pitch black with no possibility of unlocking a flashlight you can attach to your head .. this game is for you, but otherwise absolutely avoid and ignore all the hype. The terrible reviews it has earned are true.
