The more I tried to bring myself to enjoy this game the more I ended up hating it with a passion. It's definitely not the worst but I find it hard to recommend it to anyone. Hopefully Zen Studios' next non-pinball game turns out better than this.

Rather than showing the player what buttons to push in the typical Guitar Hero or DDR manner the game instead surrounds you with enemies whom you have to beat up in time with the music. This would be a great mechanic but I feel that the visuals are far too distracting and severely hinder your ability to stay in sync with the music. However, if you were to take out these distracting fighting visuals then you would only be left with slow and boring button pushing gameplay with very little substance.

I'm pretty sure that this game would be equally frustrating both for experienced players and beginners alike. Being able to play several other rhythm games in the hardest difficulty will NOT bode well for you in this game. It's almost as if the game punishes you for having a good sense of rhythm and it ultimately made me feel as if I were rhythmically challenged. It always seems like a constant struggle to visually predict which enemies will appear in beat with the song and I can hardly tell what is going of half of the time. If you're like me and enjoy shredding awesome fake guitar solos on your keyboard/plastic guitar then stay far away from this game. If you're just looking for a simple four button rhythm game then I suggest you to play Stepmania if you haven't already. In fact, I'll go play that now.
