Gameplay
This game is all about drifting and scoring points by drifting. You will drive one of 5 types of cars which each have their own quirks and handling. Some will handle very slippery, while some will be more stable. This gives the user a variety to choose from. They are progressively unlocked, but that doesn't mean you can't go back and try something with a different car.

The world you are in is more of an open world. There are several areas to go to, progressively, and each have their challenges and tasks. The challenges are courses, and the tasks are there to help you practice for the challenges. Challenges have "stars" to earn based on how many points you earn. You generally do not have to perfect a course to get the highest "star" rating, but need to do decently well.

I found this game easy to start, but rather hard to completely master. You can become proficient pretty fast, but you'll still spin out or hit the wall, which will generally end your points multiplier.

Absolute Drift isn't a foot always on the gas type of game. You will need to manage your speed. It's the Art of Drifting.

Controls
The game can be played with both keyboard and controller. It has been awhile since I've played, but I think I preferred using the controller. The developers recommend using a controller, but I think you would be able to do well enough with the keyboard.

Visuals
Absolute Drift has more of a minimalistic art style. I personally think it works well. Not overly complicated, yet also not bland. This game should run pretty well on most types of hardware.

Audio
I rather enjoyed the music in Absolute Drift. However, if you don't like Drum & Bass or Electronic music, you may not enjoy it. You are able to tab through the music while you are driving around, so that is definitely a plus. The sounds that play for passing poles and completing a drift circle or drift line are simplistic yet rewarding. The same goes for when an new area is unlocked.

Summary
I really enjoyed this game. It is a drifting game based on scoring points to achieve a goal. Yet it's one of those games that you work at and get progressively better yet. I found it rather rewarding. I thought the visual and audio were simple, yet fitting for the style of game.

I like the idea, and I think it was probably executed really well. I like your description as "the Art of Drifting." I am not sure if it's the right game for me, but I will probably check it out at one time or another. Good thing the sale's going on for another week... hehe. I still have plenty of time to consider.
