Cute graphics and stuff for the filly and enemies.

Movement is fine and generally does what you want, though slight bit of inertia you have can make some precision jumps a bit annoying, along with unintentionally grabbing ledges or not going up staircases you'd want at times.

Combat centers around being the first to hit and stunlocking enemies (or moving out of their way) before they can get a chance to do the same to you. This works fine usually but can be quite annoying when you do get stunlocked by enemies especially larger groups of them as there's not much you can do (there is an ability which can escape out of it, but often you won't have the energy to use it anyways).
Attacks also cause knockback which can be (deliberately) annoying during platforming segments as an enemy is likely going to knock you into a death pit plenty of times.
The key is to learn and memorize how enemy attack patterns work to avoid getting hit, as well as which sequence and timings to attack things in when there's multiple enemies to deal with in some of the harder sections.

Levels usually have a mix of platforming and combat as well as various secret/optional areas. Some enemies will stay dead once you defeat them (though not all, not sure what governs this) which is useful for getting through it. Levels also have checkpoints in various spots, and typically a closer checkpoint for instant death pits (vs dying from enemy attacks which will set you back to the usual checkpoints).

Overall it's fun to play, though the difficulty does ramp up quickly in later levels and can be a bit frustrating, so prepare to die many times if you want to actually complete the game. Still stuck on one part at the time of writing this review.
