After playing through this game for about 5 years, I've got to say that it's definitely one of those fps games that you can enjoy with friends who aren't beasts at the game.

The game has also gone through alot of quality of life changes, such as making perks that would leave you as a liability than an asset to your team part of your base kit.

The community in general is hit or miss, hosting your own game is the safest guarantee so that you don't anger the host of a game you join for any reason that comes up. One example would be running a build that is disliked by the host and getting kicked for it. Though this does happen on higher difficulties, you'd be surprised to find the reasons for being booted out.

Also, interestingly enough, the game has resumed development with the intent of giving the devs extra cash flow because of how badly all their other games have fared as well as them running out of funds to finance payday 3.

The first round of dlc that they released at this point is not really worth the sticker price, so if you want to buy the border crossing bundle, wait til they discount it to at least $5. (I should add that the amount of content across these three dlc's are typically included as one, which further proves their intent).

Other then these avoidable issues, I would recommend the game to anyone, especially if they can grab the legacy collection on sale. You get 5+ years of dlc for about $20 (if you don't own the base game or any of the dlc, which then would make it cheaper).

Although this game shows its age when it comes to the engine, it is still a timeless classic in my book. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, be it a casual player or an fps veteran.
