Clickteam's Fusion 2.5 is probably one of the only engines that has one of the easiest to learn visual coding systems while simultaneously being capable of creating great commercial results.
It's certainly one of the best options if you're an artist trying to make a game, a hobbyist, or you're not that great at coding or haven't found luck with many other engines.

However, Fusion 2.5 can have a lot of limitations (it's a 32-bit engine from 2013, for starters...) and a lot of things that can easily be done in other engines require extremely complicated and obtuse workarounds.

While they help developers with things like porting their Fusion 2.5 videogames to consoles and other devices, the company behind it is very closed to the public about updates, which doesn't help at all with their engine losing popularity the more time passes, it being "the engine that made fnaf!!!1" doesn't work as a safe net anymore (specially knowing how pirated the software became during that time) and they need to get serious if they really want to stay relevant in today's day and age to compete with these different game engines everywhere nowadays.

I guess its biggest problem is that it is outdated, and it will never be "updated" until they release the long-awaited, long-delayed version of the engine, Fusion 3, which (if it comes out before the heat death of the sun, or the company's bankruptcy) will hopefully fix a lot of the issues mentioned in this review.

Also, I do not care about the high pricing, because there's not a single subscription-based feature, which is very much appreciated knowing how rotten other companies now have become trying to garner as many profits as they can because they can't ship a good product that stands the test of time.

At the end of the day, Fusion 2.5 was meant to be a small step between Clickteam Fusion 2 and Fusion 3, a little bonus update from 10 years ago for developers to enjoy while they finished working on Fusion 3, it was never meant to be too big of a deal, but they've taken so long to make the third version of the engine, while simultaneously trying to make 2.5 more updated, that it feels like 2.5 is all Clickteam is capable of offering.

TLDR; Very solid engine for artists, hobbyists and people who want to make a game fast, but the engine really needs to be updated to newer standards.

I wish Clickteam the best of luck in the future, and I hope I can see it grow past its limits.
