I'm quite shocked to find this many bad reviews so therefore I will give some insight from a person that has played this game without mods, with mods, without friends, with friends and long enough to see the improvement by the developer and the bug fixes:

First of all. Seeing people with 20 hours in this game, while they paid a few bucks and STILL complain about getting their money worth, is absolute contradiction. I can tell you you will get your money worth the second you play this game. The unlimited potential here is what's really important: This is not a game where you are limited to the developer himself. You can create your own maps. Play Workshop maps. Find new spots and use new textures. There is no limit.

Second. If you ever struggle with not having enough people to play. I totally recommend checking out the Discord Server. I have already found a large amount of people that are great to play with. Good way to find new friends as well. Obviously this is just like the Among Us Discord. You will eventually encounter trolls. Just kick them. I have played this with just my friends but trust me if you make a lobby and you set clear rules for people to follow, it's easily one of the best games for good groups. The more the merrier.

One of the most important things to mention is the active (Right now pretty much daily) updates with fixes and additions. I would obviously love to see a better color picker. Especially when it comes to picking the values of shadows into your color wheel. As well as adding a texture mode. More than just metallic and roughness.

But honestly this is a journey and I am fully behind this game and I can easily see myself playing this in the far future. People just tend to be very negative. They like to downplay how good certain games like these are. Obviously this game has a road ahead to be perfect but remember: It's not always a big cooperation.
