Admittedly I have a lot of fun building and customizing cars in this game, but when I take them out on the road I remember why I don't like this game: I can't stand the physics!

It's like they tried to combine the weightiness of sim racing with the snappy "drift button" mechanics of a mediocre kart racer as if they were trying to please both sim and arcade crowds. I feel like I'm fighting with the controls whenever I make tiny corrections. The game just can't seem to decide when to oversteer or understeer. There's nothing wrong with a bit of a learning curve, but go back to Underground or Most Wanted '05, or even Hot Pursuit '98 or High Stakes. The controls of those games feel so much more natural in comparison. This game just feels buggy. Seriously, press the handbrake and steer the other way during a drift, and you'll immediately shift sideways like you got T-boned by an invisible truck.

The whole theme is just silly: They shut down entire parts of the city in the middle of the day for sanctioned races, but that's not good enough? Drivers feel the need to race illegally too? IRL they're shutting down all the racetracks where I live to build condos, I'd settle for the sanctioned races! To be fair, I'm glad they used it as a means to introduce police chases without making them mandatory.

[Played on console, only got Steam version for wheel support and it was as bad as I expected. Not a deal breaker since that's not the focus here]
