A huge dose of nostalgia - characters, music, sounds, graphics, satire, and general aesthetics, staying true to the source material... even the bar code registration plates are here. There's a lot of action and a good amount of detective work and sniffing around for clues, plus a quite nice story that includes Murphy's humanity breaking through in various forms. Facial expressions aren't that great and some dialogues feel a bit stiff in a few places, true - but that's not a huge problem, and one can get used to it. Definitely a good game, and the best Robocop one we've had so far. It can be easily treated as the Robocop 3, as it takes place after the events of Robocop 2 and in my opinion is far superior to the third movie.

Also, I was able to issue parking tickets. Marvelous.

Just wanted to drop my thoughts on the game after sinking 21 hours into it (at least ino the remaster, on Steam; I finished the original title 10 years ago already). So... The nostalgia hit hard. It was a very good ride, felt like the third Ghostbusters movie we've all been waiting for (I blissfully ignore the 2016 reboot, call Afterlife the 4th instalment and Frozen Empire the 5th). Massive props to Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis for bringing that authentic vibe to... literally, everything. Story, voices, visuals. Thanks to the devs, too, of course.

Those artifacts and ghost descriptions were not only interesting but had me smiling more than once (the mug, the toilet!). It's those little details that make the game so enjoyable. Music. Dialogues. Places. Humour and sarcasm, winks to the people who know the movies... It truly captures the essence of the franchise, making you feel like an actual part of the crew - it's that immersive, if you let it. The story is engaging, and the gameplay mechanics were just what a Ghostbusters fan would hope for. Sure, on Casual difficulty its a bit short, but if you try to get all of the achievements and finish the game on Professional it will definitely pose a challenge.

All in all, a solid recommendation from me.

A game that at the beginning looks like a platformer with a clever idea for level design changes into something much deeper and touching - psychological. It's not for everyone, no - but everyone should at least give it a try. Pleasant graphics, nice tunes and sounds, interesting story/narrative and use of controls; The tandem of mouse and keyboard are necessary for solving rather simple puzzles, but there is time for exploration in the majority of places. Definitely a recommendation here.

I lost count how many times I've died, got attacked by a troll or a boar. ~ I got my gear stranded in high mountains because wolves and drakes surprised me. Got stressed because of a sea serpent's attempts to chew on the boat I was swimming in. Bonemass turned me into fish sticks several times, the village I sit in was raided a few times already. So, is the game worth your time? Absolutely yes! Even more so, if you do all of the above with a friend or a mate, like I do. ~

I read about this game in one of the CD-Action game magazine issues and instantly got interested in it. A previously unseen idea, cute critter that is doing the block fiddling, catchy title, genre itself (I love to train my mind ~) and Undertale-like graphics... I got it a few days ago from a friend, as a Christmas gift. So, did the review lie? Nope! I got so involved in it that I didn't notice when 2 am hit the clock. Even better, I was streaming the game over Discord for my mate and we've been trying to crack the puzzles together. Music is very calm and thoughts-inducing. Great fun, I definitely recommend the Baba. ~

One of the best games I've ever played. It has tons of humour in dialogues and outside them (the badger!), solving mind puzzles and surprises. Graphics won't age, as they're nicely drawn, music - iconic. Almost 100 hours and 30/30 achievements show my fascination and dedication to see and experience absolutely everything in this game. :3 I suggest watching anime as well, several issues were solved differently.

It's not a game, but a small adventuring experience in a sauce of classic times. Cute and stylish graphical art drawn by hand that power pretty backgrounds and nice animations, well chosen sound effects and the wonderful music that accompany the trip, consistent story you want to unravel and tons of humour - as well as many winks and references to the gaming industry - and game engine that does not disturb, but is helpful; Beginning of the game explains how the UI works and after five minutes it's so natural to use it, that you forget it's there (and if you do by some miracle, then there is always "Help" option in pause menu). Not enough? The game does not only entertain, but also educate by having an interesting encyclopedia that is unlocked as you play and explore. Definitely worth a try - you won't regret it.

A close friend of mine gifted me this one as a birthday present. I've decided to give it a run "a bit later" because of the work, family matters etc. Today I've finally had some time to give it a go. I've launched it at 13:00 just to see what it actually is; I mean, I've read a review few months ago, I've also took a small read about it here on Steam and at the internet, so yeah...

... It's 19:00 now. Who am I? Where am I? Oh, crap, I've forgot to make myself something to eat and washing machine finished up its cycle 4 hours ago.

Definitely, I recommend it.

Early Access Review
/* Played the game on GOG first, same version as here */

A very, very nice adventure game. Even in early access, and only with chapter 1, for almost 2-3 hours of one of the most relaxing (and nostalgic) experiences I've had in long time - it's pretty decent. ^^ Bought for me by a friend - I don't regret giving it a try and launching it. :3 It's pretty charming... like an actual walk in the forest during summer while just enjoying the surroundings and breathing fresh air. And we're not saving world again, but doing some more realistic tasks. Good.

I remember my long evenings with Desperados many years ago, when I've still had the CD. Time passed... I've decided to re-buy the game on Steam and give it a try... oh boy...

... as much as I love the game itself, its story, graphics, sounds, music, dialogues, everything... I just can't recommend the Steam version to anyone, who has Windows 7 or newer. The game just won't run. And if it will, it will hang and crash in more eager way, than bumper cars in amusement park. On my Win7 x64 I've tried literally everything from this topic http://steamcommunity.com/app/260730/discussions/0/540737262306815107/ or https://www.gog.com/forum/desperados_series/possible_solution_to_crashes_maybe/post7 - and even more than that, used all of my knowledge, few other solutions served by Google - whatever I would do, the application randomly exits to desktop with "game.exe stopped working" message. Nothing helps; I've been able to finish first tutorial mission without too many issues, but second one just won't let me pass through. Crash, crash, crash.

I'm very sad to post a negative review about this title, but... it's just unplayable for me. Again, Desperados is great, but there is something wrong with Steam version, or modern computers are just too modern to handle the awesomeness of early 2000's.
