Seen alot of negative comments about this game, but as someone who played in the beta I want to shed some light on it. It came as a surprise to me when I saw the game wasn't free anymore, but I really enjoyed the game during beta and still pre-ordered it. Since the beta, they've introduced several new maps, new characters , and a new game mode. The game design is really pretty, and I'm able to get stable 144+ frames on high settings. I've had no problems with disconnects, server lag, etc. I've seen A LOT of people commenting about the battle pass and "micro-transactions."
While it's true there is a purchasable in-game currency, there's also an EARNED in-game currency that you get from playing the game and completing challenges. Both currencies are essentially interchangeable, and everything I've bought in the game (out-side of the pre-order skins) I've bought with the free in-game currency . I haven't invested a single dollar for skins, totems, etc. (and I have a lot of the skins already). The only thing that needs "rocket fuel" (the bought currency) that I've seen is the Battle Pass priced @ 9.99 USD. Don't be fooled by some of the reviews from people making it seem like you have to dump a bunch of money into the game for skins or accessories. There's also no pay to win aspect as all power-ups and perks are not purchased and are unlocked as you level your character.
Currently, I would give the game 3.5/5 because there are some "quality of life" problems with the UI (no easy way to mute randoms in your game), and not an obvious way to cancel your matchmaking q. ATM , there's also no punishment for leaving a competitive game (that I know of.) I think some of the characters could use some balancing as well, but hopefully they'll address that in the future.
