As I was playing this game, this *gorgeous* game by the way, I had this sinking thought in the back of my mind. I was enjoying myself as the bulk of this hour long experience is a visual and audio feast, the audio design in particular was kinda blowing me away. But I had this nagging thought.

That nagging thought at the back of my head was, "I really hope this one final show is good."

You spend the majority of the game quite literally bringing the band back together. A 4 person jazz quartet is now 3 as their singer and sax player has passed, and you play her ghost, slowly breaking her old bandmates out of their homes and neuroses to go out for one last show.

I want to mention that there are these interspersed bits of commentary as you play the game, that seem almost like a panel interview of the quartet while their singer was still alive, and working in an industry where I get to see a lot of artist, film maker and musicians panels, I'm so curious if this was based on a real band or not because the dialogue in those sections sounds so much like a real panel. Good dialogue is hard to come by so props there.

It happens a lot where a low budget or smaller dev team game build up to an emotional finish really well and then don't stick the landing.

I seriously can't convey with words how well they nailed it, my worries were completely unfounded. Each of the band members has their own flair and flourish in the final act and it all gets tied together, as the quartet was tied together, by Nina's lovely voice.

I do know that the voice actress and singer that plays Nina is developer Mads' real life sister, and that the score is by his real life father. Huge props to them both. The score throughout feels so right and it kicks in at all the opportune times, and that final song where Nina really gets to let loose is phenomenal. Her voice has this gorgeous, very clear and consistent tone to it, and the song choice was perfect for that "one last show" they were going for.

I'm always an advocate for short, sweet indie games you can play in a sitting, and this doesn't do anything special with puzzles or anything, but its more for the visual and audio experience, the story. I had a great time with this game and would highly recommend it to anyone thats looking to kill an hour with a great artistic experience.

I review all kinds of games both indie and not, so if you made it this far please go follow my steam curator page, it helps a lot to connect me with devs and get more reviews like this one out (plus I go hard at games that aren't good so I'll probably save you some money at some point lol)

Thanks for reading
