Early Access Review
Before I start this review I just wanna say that I get it's in alpha and once it is fully released I will consider giving it a better review. That being said, I have a LOT of problems with this game. I love the overall mechanics and gameplay. I think it's a fun twist on battle royale. However, everything else about the game is broken. I really don't know why it has such high reviews because people shouldn't be rating a game on what it COULD be rather what it is in its current state.
SO, my problems with the game:
1) it's laggy, obviously. If you play for more than 5 seconds and you'll notice this, even in later parts of games I'm skipping around and see other players skipping around as well.. (I have 1000mb up/down internet speed) I'm sure this will be fixed at some point, not too worried.
2) weapon balancing is awful. Sometimes I would land and get one shot by someone whereas I find a weapon that does maybe 200 damage a shot. Not to mention legendary weapons... Legendaries that can one shot you is ridiculous and ruins the purpose of battle royale. Sure, snipers should be one shot in the head, but not an entire library of weapons.
3) Needs a solo mode, as mentioned in a lot of other reviews.
4) A lot of the actions don't feel smooth at all. If I can't reload while sprinting, then give me a message saying so.
5) I noticed a lot of bugs in the mechanics themselves. For example, sometimes I'll try to reload and I'll get stuck in a looping animation and won't reload my gun. Similarly, I've had moments where I'll only reload 1 shot in my weapon and I keep having to spam R to finish the reload.
6) Circle speed and damage. Now this is my preference personally. This game moves way too quick. This also kind of goes hand in hand with weapon balancing. If you force your playerbase to progress a game at a certain speed, the gameplay should match. This game does not match those two aspects. For example, if you land outside the circle, forget about forging with a squad. Takes way too long and the storm will kill you.
7) This kind of extends #6. Don't show the "storm" circle before the players land. This basically restricts 25%+ of the map every game. Really?
8) Other than offensive and movement abilities, the rest are useless. The assassin can go invisible for all of about 1 second. I don't really see a purpose in that.
9) This is also a personal suggestion, but there are no long range battles. Everything is up and in your face. I feel like if everything else was fixed this would be fun, but it just isn't for me. Especially when one of the class legendaries is a scoped sniper, it makes that weapon nearly useless.
10) Continuation of #9 - The assassin legendary (scoped sniper that does 1200 damage) is good for landing one or two shots. However, unless you're facing a single person off-guard then you will get destroyed by a warrior with the legendary throwing axe.
11) The legendary throwing axe is broken obviously.
12) Animation bugs. I see several people stuck in T-Pose in every single game.

So yeah, there's a lot that I think is broken. BUT I did like a lot of the game too -
1) The art style is neat
2) The class system is fun, but needs to be re-balanced or re-done.
3) Mounts are very useful and fit with the playstyle of the game.
4) Forging is also a fun aspect to the game
5) This game really does feel like a fantasy RPG and I love that about it.
6) Being able to view teammates' armor and ability slots
7) Chickens!! I absolutely love this mechanic. When you get knocked by an enemy you turn into a chicken and if you can survive for 30 seconds then you get revived automatically. HOWEVER, I killing chickens feels really weird. Sometimes I'll land 3 shots on a chicken and not kill it and other times I'll be one shot as a chicken. I think this plays into weapon balancing.

Again, I'll keep playing this game and follow the updates, but it's current state is not playable.
