Taking a clear influence from Drive (2011), in Midnight Fight Express, the player takes on several waves of enemies and must quickly react to variants and what weapons they are currently carrying. While not all the humor lands, the game has a charming, quirky narrative that doesn’t detract from the intrigue or brutal violence. The hand-to-hand combat and reactive gameplay are a highlight and very rewarding when pulling off high combos. The game even goes the SUPERHOT route of housing in-game highlight reels.
