Don't let the bad reviews get to you. I agree Mabinogi does have its problems, but it's not a game for everyone. I've played the game for the past three years or so and I have had a blast playing it. It's true there's a lot Nexon can do to make this game better, but even then I still have fun regardless. I never run out of things to do either, considering I've played this game for three years and I still have room to grow stronger. You don't have to spend money on the game to enjoy it. Honestly, it'll take awhile before you feel like you even need to spend money to get stronger, and if you get to that point then you'll be a dedicated player probably willing to spend money on it. For a game that's about a decade old in NA, it's pretty darn good in my opinion. There's a lot in the game to enjoy besides combat, such as writing music and commercing. There's a lot of ways to style yourself into your own awesome anime character too. Overall, if this game even looks interesting to you just give it a try. It's worth a shot, trust me. Sometimes you really don't know if you'll enjoy something until you try it yourself, and Mabinogi is for sure a game that fits that description.
