Lazy Bear Games did a good job with the gameplay of Punch Club along with the playful story that it's paired with (except for how the game ends).

At the start, the game has such a great hook showcasing all of its greatest qualities within the first half hour of gameplay, but when you're starting to near the end the energy runs low and ultimately all of your hard work is for a somewhat mediocre ending; it leaves the player wanting more. I get the impression that this part of the game was rushed, but besides feeling anticlimactic, the ending actually kind of fits with how the game mostly presents itself. It's short and silly, and in some ways it feels like the punchline to a dad joke, but for the amount of time that a person might put in their blind run, it just seems inappropriate to end the game this way.

It took me a while to finish this game. I've tried finishing it twice before, but after taking long breaks at a time I found it kind of hard to jump back in with how you have to almost micromanage your stats in the late game. For this late game grind, I don't really see a replayability factor in this game which could've cushioned the ending.

The choices in this game from my experience don't really feel like choices. If you want more content, just go for the content. If you want to be a part of the Italian mob, join the Italian mob. From my understanding, you don't have any inherent consequences except for a debuff here and there. If you feel morally obligated to not join the mob and do right by your Boxer Dad, then...don't join the mob I guess. You just block yourself out of some content at the end of the day.

If you want to spend a couple of hours doing some brain-numbing grinding, then this would be a good game for you. It's definitely not for everyone, and make sure you do everything you want to do before taking on the final boss after becoming the world champion.

You don't have to do everything, but then all of the grinding just feels like it's for nothing important at the end of the day.

If you're looking for a game that will help pass the time, this is the perfect game for you. Mind there are a couple of glitches here and there that can affect the gameplay of the game, the appearance that these glitches will make are not common unless you are almost done with the game. I wouldn't recommend buying this game at full price, but if this game is on sale, you should buy it because aside from the glitches, you truly feel like you're putting some level of effort into the game, and that made this game really fun for me.

A quirky sim game that "accurately" describes life as a game developer.
Currently it's my favorite game! I like how they parody every game console like "Ninvento Wuu" and "Vega Venesis". Gameplay is great, but you sometimes do feel like it can play a bit unfair towards you. Overall, everyone should give it a shot!
