An amazing game. The pixel art and soundtrack is top tier, the gameplay feels extremely smooth while still providing a challenge, and the story was incredible as well. The secret boss was also incredibly fun and challenging.

Easily at least a 9.5/10 DLC, the best out of any RoR2 DLC IMO. This DLC not only had balanced items, enemies and survivors, but FUN items, enemies, and survivors. No one-shot final bosses, no bugged or unfinished characters, and no game-breaking bugs. An incredible reminder of what happens when we don't push for a product to be rushed.

After fully completing Risk of Rain 2, I wanted to love this game. I'd heard great things about it, and the art and music are incredible. However, this doesn't excuse the gameplay. Compared to ROR2 and even other roguelite games, the gameplay loop feels too bland and RNG-reliant, giving you either an overpowered build or leaving you struggling. The stage design is bad, with little to no interactables, large open spaces with nothing in them, and the teleporter being hidden in some crevice that takes 10+ minutes to find. Flying enemies are an absolute nuisance, especially considering how you can only shoot horizontally. After playing through a few runs and some "Providence Trials", which were much more fun than the base game, I just couldn't find myself enjoying it.

Great game, especially just for a project. The gameplay feels smooth, but is constantly interrupted by cutscenes upon starting fights, opening doors, or even obtaining items. These cutscenes are slow and ruin the flow of the typically fast-paced gameplay. The combat is fun albeit there only being 2 enemy types, a melee enemy that is very easy to avoid and a ranged enemy with very well-made but standard bullet patterns. The boss is a short, easy, but very fun fight. Its attacks are fun to dodge and some are quite difficult. Fights are quite easy, and I didn't go anywhere near half HP throughout the whole game, so I would recommend only playing the challenge mode. The music is also pretty solid for a 30 minute free game. Save for a few minor issues such as annoying cutscenes and very rare translation errors, this is an incredible game. If this were a paid, fully developed game, I would no doubt play it.

This game is incredible. The music is awesome, the level atmosphere is great, as well as the level design. The gameplay loop is never boring, which is a problem lots of roguelikes have. Achievements are often challenging to get but rewarding, and never too grindy. 10/10 game.
