This game reminds me why I got into writing creatively in the first place. It's been a big frustration of mine that I never ended up becoming the novelist or video game writer that I wanted to be but I'd forgotten the reason I loved writing in any form in the first place. I'd forgotten I can still write, anytime.

This game is the experience of finding a pen pal and writing to them occasionally, but updated for the digital world. It's sharing a soft moment with strangers, finding the bravery to reach out and seek help from others without fear of being judged or hurt. I had a good cry after receiving a simple reply to one of my first request letters. It's quite cathartic knowing there isn't any need for the stranger on the other side to comfort me. They just wanted to.

Kind Words reminds us about the power of language and communication in relationships. It's a beautiful game that teaches us how to be human again in a world dominated by screens, marketing propaganda, social constructs and fake online personas. Highly recommend this for anyone who needs to find hope in the world again!

Pretty short game loop but still a cute game for newbies to VR. Might be good entertainment for kids too, very wholesome. Wish there were other game modes or a "free mode" where I can just spend time creating my own kitty mutations without the conveyor belt or timer running out. As this is an old game, I wouldn't buy it at the max 10 bucks, wait for a sale.

A poignant, but hopeful, story coupled with gorgeous art and evocative musical arrangements. This is a nice little pick-up if you need a break from busier action games and MMORPGS. The game is pretty short (can complete the whole thing in around 30 mins if you blitz through reading but I recommend spending a little extra time to soak in the emotions in each chapter). Storytelling is linear and it's more of an animated art book but the simple interactive bits make it a refreshing immersive experience.

A solid 8/10 buy especially since it's an older title that may often go on sale.
