Overwhelmingly disappointing ... Lacking so many QoL features for a mystery game that requires you to tie up a ton of loose ends, bringing the runtime to 12-15 hours for something that would have been perfect as a 6-7 hour game, in 2-3 sittings.

Pretentious in its presentation, sacrificing brevity and clarity which hinders enjoyment. Dithering EVERYTHING to make the mystery "feel more close to the player", doesn't excuse not being able to make out numbers or details when that is the only clue that pushes the game forward.

The Book/Journal which is your "activity hub" is missing so many features that would avert tedium, such as a "jump to memory" option, or just be able to not pixel hunt the corner of the page to turn it. Yes I can use the keys, but this isn't a fast paced FPS, it's a puzzle game, I'm not in the DOOM SLAYER position ... I do not want to focus my eyes downward to find the 5 pixels i need to click to navigate, I want to focus on the clues and finding the right page with the right info not how to turn the damn thing.

When all you want is to just engage with the game, most of the time you only end up wrestling with the interface, the lack of QoL features runs you down eventually.

If you have more time and better eyesight (although it's questionable for how long you'll maintain it playing this game), it's a cool experience, but it really is the dark souls of adventure/mystery games and those are not for everybody. I'm in the segment of people over 30, with very little time to enjoy games like I did back in the day, and this title just doesn't have the level of polish in those areas that it would make it enjoyable for me. It needed some more UX testing/design.

Early Access Review
what is the point of squads, there is no cooperation without a premade group with mics for any semblance of coordination? what is the point of timed powerups? (in battle royale you just keep what you scavenge, making exploration fun), no environmental hazards to spice up the "combat", whack-a-mole style melee. I'm dissing on the design, not the bugs (cuz there are plenty), since those are to be expected in an early access game. The novelty wears off after 15 mins...

Poor, clunky controls, confusing levels and a lot of backtracking, uninspired puzzles (keycard hunt-a-thon fest 2000). Story is almost non-existent.

I read in someone's review that artstyle is "amazing", yet i repeatedly had trouble distinguishing foreground from background. Me and my friend missed some door entrances because they looked like BARRED DOORS due to their background.

OST is good at times and most of the weapon sounds. Humour is hit and miss (mostly miss). It is short, so if you literally have nothing else to play coop in a short amount of time, maybe MAYBE give it a shot.
