Steam conked out for me too. On the plus side, the texture glitches seem to just be a result of minimising.

I don't know what happened. One minute I was talking with you on Steam and the next I had zero connection to Steam. I don't know if it was at my end only, but I can't see you online now so I suspect you've gone to bed. That makes me sad, but I hope we can try again soon. Sweet dreams. xxx
