[Update] I downloaded the new patch for the game on 12/17/25 and it fixes the aspect ratio issue, so I'm changing my review to recommended if you're looking for an, old school, fast paced action game.
I normally don't write reviews but I'm writing this more as a warning for would be purchasers. There was a patch late last month that broke widescreen resolutions for a lot of us. You get black bars on both sides of the screen and I also have a small black bar on the bottom. This is on both my PC and Steam Deck. It makes the game look squished and blurry. There are multiple threads in the forums about this, as well as players expressing the problem in the patch notes and there has been 0 response from the developer in over 3 weeks now. Other than this, the game play is great although different than other games in the series. It's much faster which isn't a surprise seeing as Platinum Games developed this. Level design is very much from a game that you'd have played 15-20 years ago but that might be what you're looking for as it's a positive for me. Other than the widescreen problem the game runs great for me on a RTX 4070ti Super/ Ryzen 7 9700x system. I get 90-120 fps maxed out at 4k with DLSS enabled. If the game is updated to fix the widescreen problem then I'll update my review but at this time I'm leaving this more as a buyer beware and I cannot recommend the game in this state.
