Spyro: Reignited Trilogy

Gameplay
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is extremely faithful to the original games. The core gameplay from all 3 original games is unchanged. Spyro's abilities, movement and enemies play the same as in the originals. Levels have not been tampered with and are same in structure. Enemy placements, location of items and treasure is exactly the same as in original games. Gameplay itself is pretty simple. Each game consists of levels spread across multiple worlds. You collect gems and other items throughout levels to progress further.

Visuals and Sound
It's one of the finest 3D platformer designs, there's a lot of attention to details. Spyro's design and animations are perfect. In terms of the audio, the original soundtracks have been updated with more depth and I actually liked them more than the original. But still, for those who want to listen to the original soundtracks you can toggle them through the menu. Voice acting is great and I love that Tom Kenny voiced Spyro once more!

Should you buy this game?
Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is a collectathon platformer. It's suitable for children and people who are looking for nostalgic 90s games or PS1 classics. If you're looking for a challenging platformer, you won't find it here. Spyro games have a good replay value if you want to just sit back and relax. Of course, people nowadays expect more from any game and Spyro will feel outdated, but it still has its charm. If this is not something you like, then don't buy this game!

Cons
- camera can't keep up with the movement (even active mode, you'll have to turn the camera manually)
- some enemies in Spyro The Dragon are bugged (Alpine Ridge - fix is to change to 30fps for the druid to lower the bridge)
- Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon needs patching (Skateboarding physics are way off.
Bentley level on Crystal Island is beyond broken! - I succeeded on 20th try and now I can't imagine how much trouble some kid would have with this. It's like they didn't even test this!)
- bosses are not as aggressive as in original Spyro, but this isn't too bad (I only didn't like Spike's design).
- if you play offline your game won't save (make sure to play online or lose your saves!)

On the final note, this is still a masterpiece with some flaws. This is not a remaster, it is a remake of the 3 most iconic PS1 titles! I can't say how much it means to me to finally play my favorite childhood game and the first game I have ever played.

Thank you, Toys for Bob. 9.8/10

Great review, the Pros, and Cons I've found myself seeing a lot throughout the GamePlay that I've had already.

I just want to add that there's a few tweaks made to movement, or are a result of the 60 FPS mode, that specifically effects how fast you can move as Spyro most notably. For example on a certain Egg Thief mini-game/level located in a Sub-Area of Spyro 3's Tiki Lounge, the one that requires a turbo boost, the difficulty is actually made much greater, as you seemingly move faster then you can prove to manage with the camera controls.. I myself took nearly an hour to accidentally hit the Egg Thief, where as in the normal game I can do that same Level in 10 minutes tops, and actual make an intended shot on the Egg Thief.

Other then that, it's an faithful remake, and I gotta give Toys for Bob credit, they didn't cut corners, and tried their hardest to bring to life, mine, and so many others childhood game to the modern age, and I'll be keeping a look out for more of their work.

Thanks lordeguilherme, Highscouter!
@Highscouter Good luck with your studies and I definitely recommend you to get this game when you can! (:
@gelatinous cube Bosses are easier in Reignited, Spike in particular (Year of the Dragon). It takes away a bit of a challenge, but it's not too bad.
