Atheism and Evolution. Two very different things, but usually dependent on each other. You're right, there are Atheists who don't believe Evolution and there are Christians who do.
But every belief comes with a history. The origin that the large majority Atheists accept is the Evolutionary one, which is the reason I had assumed you were an Evolutionist.
In other words, you almost always need Evolution to explain Atheism, vice versa. That is why I group them together as one.
If you're still going to be annoyed by this, I can just say 'Evolutionary Atheist', because that's what I mean.

The insanity Evolution is a little off-topic, so remind me that we need to come back to it if we can come to a conclusion about Atheism being a religion. I know enough of the little details and misconceptions to understand your point about monkeys, but there are also lots of facts most Evolutionists don't know.

Let me guess you think that we evolved from Monkeys? Every person I've met that rejects evolution has said if we evolved from monkeys than why are there still monkeys or why aren't monkeys still evolving into humans? We never did Evolve from Monkeys. We share a common ancestor with monkeys.

Okay lets say I'm a Christian or a Muslim or whatever. Those faiths actively encourage followers to bring new folks into the faith. Atheism has no such thing. That is the point I was trying to make. My mistake on that.

I'm pretty sure Atheism was around before the theory of Evolution. Theists accept evolution too you know. I have met plenty of Christians that accept the theory and their Christian god.

Temples : Museums. They serve the same purpose: to honor or teach others about the belief.

Churches : Atheist mega churches.

Clothing : Any T-shirt that supports Atheism is Atheistic clothing. You're not going to catch anyone from another religion wearing an 'I ♥ Atheism' shirt.

Rituals : This is a little broad and may need to be defined. I'm not sure if you're going to use the dictionary definition or not. But Atheists follow patterns to respect their belief just like anyone else.

Rites : Same as rituals.

Teachings : To be honest, I'm surprised you went this far. All you need to do is listen to a science class from any of the ~100,000 public schools in the U.S. alone.

After reading this list you should see why Atheism is a religion, but even if you think I was wrong about one or two of them you can just search 'religions without [anything on the list]' and my main argument will still stand.

If you say Atheism is not a religion you need to have reasons to back up your claim. But the problem is that any list of reasons you use will disclude other religions as well as Atheism.

So for example, you said Atheism is not a religion because there is no god(s). So to show you why that's a bad reason, I gave you a list of religions that have (or can have) no god(s).

So now that your first point is out of the way, I can move on to your other reason: That's not true.

I'll give another reason Atheism is not a religion. Religions tend to seek to convert people to their religion. Most Atheists don't really care if theists wanna believe in their gods. My entire family is Christian and I don't care if they still believe in god. However they've made attempts to bring me back to Christianity.

Atheism also doesn't have any sort of temples,churches, clothings,rituals,rites,teaching etc. All that is needed to be an Atheist is the rejection of all religions. Including your godless Buddhism; which is accepted as a religion.
