This is as good as an on-rails narrative shooter gets when it's 2024 and the game is made for VR in a mobile quest dominated VR gaming landscape. The whole package was solid, no crashes, no bugs, little jank. The game is not the greatest in its genre, but it is good, and likely the best in its genre we'll get for native PCVR in 2024.

It was a solid ride at normal difficulty. Copious ammo, easy to find weapons. Some of the collectable placement less obvious. The pacing through the chapters was good. Some variety. Level design felt a little too repetitive in places. Not when the story demanded it, when repetition with iteration was fine. But it felt restricted in places. A little more imagination in the level design would have helped and been appreciated, and when it was present, it stood out. There were few visually wow moments for PCVR.

The checkpoints allowed for IRL to interrupt, mentioned for those like me with young families. Also, generous for respawn when death did occur. There were some sweaty moments, where my end-of work day, middle-aged reactions definitely upped a gear to get through.

There were strings of the heart being plucked. Only a few jump scares, but some sections of suspense building up nicely.

The audio was good, though at times didn't match the action I was involved in if I was stopping, chatting, or hunting around.

The VA was well done, but the voice-on-the-radio trope is overused generally in gaming, and doesn't come across as being particularly ambitious.

Overall, it was a solid experience, feeling like it had been designed with Quest in mind from the outset, but the uplift to PC (now patched with Index finger tracking) was good.

Well done to everyone involved in its creation. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
