Fun game so far. Cool monsters, amazing music, voices are actually decent. If you enjoyed DD1, then you'll for sure enjoy this one as well. For newcomers, the combat might feel a little clunky at first, but it's something you'll get used to. Performance is a bit shaky, but nothing egregious after a bit of fine-tuning in the options, and performance patches are being worked on.

Warning regarding the world itself. There's a lot of time progression that makes "doing everything" very difficult. If you're a completionist, you're gonna want to break out of that mindset or wait for guides, as you'll get frustrated quickly. You will miss, be locked out of, or fail quests permanently.

Some criticism is the lack of multiple characters and difficulty in deleting an existing one. You have to delete in a roundabout way outside of game, which is pretty stupid.

Regarding MTX, understand that most of the negative reviews are performative outrage. Useless MTX has been a Capcom staple for nearly a decade, and every single item is *very* easily obtainable in-game, and this includes the "Deluxe edition" benefits. There's no reason to buy them. Is it stupid? Yes. Always will be. Does it affect the game or matter at all? No.
