In Short: Hell is bureaucracy and punching fellow demons requires a 3-page formular, five stamps and a blood sacrifice, as it should be. A varied ressource management game which will give you the Game of Thrones experience in a desolate wasteland. Exquisite art and atmosphere, but the music is kind of mid and the cartoonish archfiends feel a bit out of place compared to the metal as hell artwork.

Good Time, if you like to play the long game and use many different tools to become Lucifers heir.

Bad Time, if you hate random ressource collection and random events which might just delete your ressources, units and even abilities.

In Short: A dystopian survival body horror game masked by a cartoonishly furry exterior. There is passion in this work, but also a lot of jank and unfair randomness thanks to the RPG Maker engine. You will have to fight for every meter of progress in this game.

Good time, if you enjoy a little softcore furry indie experience.

Bad time, if you are looking for tight controls and fair game mechanics.

In Short: Risk of Rain 1++. Everything you like about the RoR world, but more polished, more choice, more characters, more epic music, more minigames, more bossfights!

Good time, if you want more Risk of Rain.

Bad time, if you want a rougelite where you win more runs than you lose.

In short: The lovechild of Wario and Sonic, a greasy platformer with tight controls and rewarding perfectioning. What appears like a complex platformer is more of a rythm platformer, once you get a grasp of Peppinos moveset. Beating the game is not the challenge here - learning, understanding and mastering each mindfully handcrafted stage like a racetrack is both the challenge and the joy of this platformer.

Good time for platformer-, speedrunning- and collectathon-enthusiasts alike.

Bad time, if you dislike the crude artstyle and weird pizza-flavoring.

In short: A wacky university sim with colourful characters, courses and events. More than just "supply X to win the game", the mechanics reward smart combination of courses and students, which may positively or negatively effect your campus. Get Cooking students and ditch food stalls. Get Clowns and save on entertainment. There is surprising depth in this relaxing management sim.

Good time, when you like designing spaces and wacky humour.

Bad time, if... I actually can't say. If you see the art and vibe and dig that, then this game won't disappoint.

In short: Dwarf Fortress, no excuse anymore edition. The game is both visually and audibly more appealing. You need little imagination to get what is happening on the screen and your little ant hill made of Dwarves also sounds charmingly like Caesar III. There is still wonk and jank under the hood which, if you are not familiar with the original game, might feel esoteric at best. But as a whole, Dwarf Fortress HD feels like the logical conclusion of decades of passion work.

Good time, when you want a community of drunkards fight against the world.

Bad time, when the world comes before you are ready.

In Short: The classic PvE coop experience IN SPACE. Expect endless hordes, annoying elites, big monsters and lots of shovel-swinging. Instead of having premade characters, you can create your own - although only equipment and skills really influence gameplay. While you can slip into a basic tank / melee dps / ranged dps role with either focus on single or splash damage, you will encounter nothing groundbreaking. The 40k flair is nice though, but the grind might stop you from starting new characters, especially if you are not fond of delving into higher difficulties for better rewards.

Good time, if you are sick of slaying rats and zombies and want some frigging guns for everyone!

Bad time, if you hate meta-grinding and facing Nurgle once again.

In short: A challenging city builder combining the best elements of the Settlers, Caesar, Frostpunk and a deckbuilder. What sounds like an odd mix brings you a lot of strategic depth for your settlement building. You do not always have the perfect solution and need to make do with what you get. But as you go through the campaign, you improve your chances with more options. A game which does not hesitate to make you make tough decisions.

Good time, if you value having different ways to achieve your goal. Food and crafts are varied and can be obtained in many different ways.

Bad time, if you want to build something of permanence. The storm will ruin your city eventually.

Adds option to make catgirls. Gives the player the shameful task to create them manually. Kudos.

Oct 2022 Update In short: Dungeons III, Dwarves edition. Build and defend your base while you dig deeper, while the enemy becomes stronger. An enjoyable and thematic strategy game, now with much more improved performance! Not perfect by any means, but playable. One can be exited for future updates to come if they keep improving the quality.

Good time, if you want to play Dungeon Keeper as Dwarves.

Bad time, if you expect the variety and whimsy of Dungeon Keeper.
