To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Viper the Rapper. The lyrics are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of straight ballin’ most of the meaning will go over a typical listener’s head. There’s also Viper’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his performance- his personal philosophy draws heavily from crackhead literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these lyrics to realise that they’re not just mindblowing-they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Viper truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Viper’s existential catchphrase “You’ll cowards don’t even smoke crack” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Confessions of a Baller. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Lee Carter’s genius wit unfolds itself on their earbuds.
