In 1956 Joseph Paquemanne, a famous French businessman, sought to establish new business ventures abroad in order to help France's economy recover from the ravages of the Second World War. To this end, he organized a conference of American, Japanese, and French executives to meet in the Tokyo business center in Japan.

During one of the business dinners held during this weeks-long conference, one of the American Investors (who later go on to found the Burger King franchise) brought his signature burgers for the other investors to try. During this dinner, Joseph Paquemanne demonstrated his signature appetite by eating over 7 burgers (which he, much to the amusement of the Americans, called "borgars"). Fusajiro Yamauchi (the founder of Nintendo) witnessed this display and found himself inspired to create the video game of "Pacman" in the signature game Pacman (1980), where a round character's goal would be to eat as many pellets as possible.
