It's good to see you, Phantom Safety Pin.
As vast a space that the internet is, it appears that time and time again we who wander it find ourselves gathered around the same bonfires.
SidneyPrescott96 Feb 6, 2021 @ 12:25am
Holy crud, how crazy is this - I've been in the Royal Achievement Hunters for years and only just now, after hanging out on Discord, did we connect as friends on Steam. Small world. :)
universe girl Feb 2, 2021 @ 11:15pm
hey, i wanna ask you something relating to the achievement hunters society. can you get back to me?
Voss Jul 4, 2020 @ 11:57am
Thank you very much, Shellback27!
You are quite right. That I completed Mount & Blade: Warband with my 5,000th achievement was indeed not a coincidence. Since it was the first videogame I have owned on Steam, it seemed to be the most fitting choice for this occasion.
Shellback27 Jul 3, 2020 @ 7:48am
Congrats on getting to 5,000! When I last checked in, you were at 4,998... and two left to earn in Mount & Blade. Having engineered the same sort of alignment, I understood.

A very, VERY ceremonious milestone indeed! :warhorse:
Voss Jun 26, 2019 @ 9:09am
Fear not, Doomcookie, for I have returned from my recent absence. I feel honored by your appreciation.
Guperstank Jun 15, 2019 @ 9:22pm
I miss you man.
Flavius Pulcherrimus Mar 2, 2019 @ 9:27am
Thank you, amicus! These wise words inspire me and strengthen me, it really is a beauty to learn more every day.
Voss Feb 28, 2019 @ 10:46am
Do not worry, Arinbjorn! There is nothing you need to be excused for nor ashamed of. It is great to hear that you have retained your interest in Roman history and improved your understanding of the Latin language. And allow me to admit that while I feel honoured by your praise, my own knowledge of the world is ultimately still very limited indeed. There is an infinity of more things for me to learn. And that is really the beauty of it. How much you know matters little, striving to learn more and to keep broadening your horizon is everything.
Flavius Pulcherrimus Feb 9, 2019 @ 7:55am
Greetings to you, dear amicus.
While we last spoke, I did not know much, surely not if one compares it to your knowledge. Now, 2 years later, my knowledge is extendend, my Latin improved and my personality changed. I was a enthousiast of the Romans, as I still am, but then I did not know how to express this interest, also I was what Romans called a puer, I am sure you are familiar with these words, now I am a mere iuvenis. Amicus certus in re incerta cernitur, Ennius said, you answered my foolish comments in a spirit of amity. I preffered a citate of Cicero, as I could not think of fitting citate. ;) Thus I thank you.
Flavius Pulcherrimus Nov 5, 2017 @ 7:23am
yes, you are! :D thanks.
Voss Nov 5, 2017 @ 7:10am
Zeno of Citium is the answer to your question, I believe. And do not worry, Arinbjorn. You still have plenty of time to enrich your own wealth of knowledge. In fact, mine is far from extensive. Trust me; I merely have a general overview of European history and access to a couple of writings about the subject. And while I like to think that I am not exactly bovine, I am not exceedingly intelligent either.
Voss Nov 5, 2017 @ 7:07am
I am always happy to assist people with the knowledge I happen to possess.
Even though this is clearly a personal matter, regarding the reason you mentioned for the temporary disarray of your memory, I hope that the relationship to your former girlfriend is not a straining one.
It is always a pleasure to meet someone who appreciates history and culture and is not as indifferent to it as most people seem to be these days. And it is outright impressive when this interest is paired with a fondness for further subject matters as complex as quantum physics. I am afraid my own understanding of physics is largely limited to classical mechanics.
Flavius Pulcherrimus Nov 4, 2017 @ 2:14pm
who was it again, that invented Stoïcism?
Flavius Pulcherrimus Nov 4, 2017 @ 2:14pm
You see, my friend, we have a lot in common, regarding your interests ^^ (and coffe) As i have a lot in common with Fródwine, my friend (i hope he considers me as his friend too), i just wished i shared his knowledge and intelligence ;(
Voss Nov 4, 2017 @ 3:45am
Your curiosity is to your credit, Equanimity. The marble bust depicts another famous statesman from the Mediterranean. He lived, however, further to the east than Marcus Aurelius, long before his Attic homeland had come under the influence of the Latins. And when the Roman emperor came into the world, more than half a millennium had passed since the death of Solon.
Regarding the final utterance of Marcus Aurelius I might be mistaken, yet as far as I know aequanimitas was not his last word, but this of his adoptive father, Antonius Pius. Nevertheless, the concept of equanimity was undoubtedly of greatest importance to him in his adherence to Stoicism as is still evident by his Meditations .
By the way, may I ask under which circumstances my avatar has grabbed your attention?
Voss Oct 26, 2017 @ 11:34am
You are being too kind, truly.
Flavius Pulcherrimus Oct 26, 2017 @ 11:32am
No problem! :D “sophist” is indeed an ambiguous compliment! Either way, I am, surely, not over praising you, my friend! ^^
Voss Oct 26, 2017 @ 10:30am
While sofist may be a rather ambiguous compliment, your words are still overpraising me, I am afraid. I feel honoured by and thank you for your appreciation, Arinbjorn Flavius Ballista.
Flavius Pulcherrimus Oct 25, 2017 @ 12:41pm
A true philosopher and sofist!
Voss Sep 17, 2017 @ 5:25am
Thank you, butzor! In view of the countless weeks I was short of 3,000 only by a couple of achievements due to my long absence, it really was about time. It feels good to have ended on a round number for both the count of the achievements as well as of the perfect games with the same achievement. And I would say the Southern Cross of Honor is an achievement worthy enough for this milestone.
butzor Sep 17, 2017 @ 4:52am
Congratz to ur 3000th achievement and 90 perfect games :blinkygoo::dizzygoo::excitedgoo::happygoo::santchezgoo::steamhappy:

These are delighting news to hear upon my return, Tetravirus27. You evidently are a man of great dedication! I was certain that you would accomplish the task, and now that you have once and for all proven your remarkable proficiency, I am very pleased to welcome you as a fellow Royal Achievement Hunter. Keep up your excellent work!
Shellback27 Jun 22, 2017 @ 1:24am
Hello again, good Sir! It seems you're quite inactive these days; I hope all is well wherever you are.

Onto business - When we last spoke, I sported but a measly 56% achievement rate. However, I'm proud to announce that, as of today, I have finally conquered the mighty 75% hurdle and am ready to join the illustrious RAHS. Cheers, and hope to hear from you again someday
Voss Mar 6, 2017 @ 3:53pm
Thank you very much for your interest, JayJay! It is my pleasure to welcome you among us.
JayJay Mar 6, 2017 @ 12:17pm
Hello! I've just discovered the royal achievement hunting society, and I fulfil all the qualifications (even good manners, I think...). So, can I join the group ?
Voss Oct 24, 2016 @ 12:23pm
You are quite welcome, Xeinok! As you have probably seen by now, I heeded your advice and joined you on Discord. Allow me to express my gratitude not only for inviting me but also for making me aware of this rather useful little programme in the first place. Do not hesitate to promote it in the Royal Achievement Hunting Society if you wish.
Xeinok Oct 21, 2016 @ 9:46am
Hey Frod, thanks for the invite but to be honest a huge majority of us hunters have moved away from using Steam's quite outdated "community" functions much anymore. A few thousand of us are very active on the Achievement Hunter discord chat nowadays - if you and any other hunter comrades haven't been over there yet, absolutely feel welcome: https://www.discord.me/100pals
Shellback27 Aug 28, 2016 @ 5:15am
Hello, good Sir! I've just discovered the Royal Achievement Hunting Society; I had to tell you as someone else who's made great strides towards perfection over the past couple years that I love the whole idea.

I currently sit well short of your required completion rate, but know that I'll continue working towards perfection... and hopefully you'll be hearing from me again in the future!
AlexTh Jun 4, 2016 @ 1:33pm
Thank you very much for your kind words Fródwine! :)

How is the frod doing this week? Have you survived another rigorous monday? :happycthulhu:
Voss Aug 15, 2015 @ 4:35pm
I am alright, as usual, and I hope this is likewise the case for you, Doomcookie.
Voss May 10, 2015 @ 2:51am
Thank you for your concern, Doomcookie. I am fine and I hope you are as well.

Inspiration my friend.

I am glad you like them. If someone makes the effort to take interesting screenshots, then others should in turn comment on them at least every now and again, I think.

Yours comments on my Metro screenshots... LOL!
