Dear Wallets, the TL;DR is run from this game. It will make promises about delivering the best night of your life, only to steal your dignity, and your pocketbook

I started SHK approximately a year ago, in that time i've learned that sometimes customer service does get so bad that your absuive family relations really did you a favor preparing you for the "Real World".

The issues as I see them:

1. You MUST pay to play: You can invest all the time you have to be "the best" but you'll never come close to the lady/fella that has thousands to spend in order to become the digital pimp of SHKland. You will forever be outclassed and outgunned, and if you want to have any hope of being a competitive player, you'll end up spending at minimum a few hundred dollars to keep up. Free to pay this game isn't.

2. Cheating: All of the major Houses in the game knowing allow or look the other way to enable cheaters, they make multiple accounts and utilize automated botting programs to gain an unfair advantage. The developer does not actively participate in looking for people cheating or abusing the system, instead they wait for the players to file reports before any action is taken. There have been many documented accounts of known cheaters going months before any actions were taken, and everyone else who has played the game fairly is never compensated for the losses incurred. If you enjoy cheating to get ahead, this game may be for you!

3. Apathtic Development Team: The mechanics of this game rarely see updates. They've been using the same crusty technology for years now and do not put any effort into maintaining the game engine. When bugs do occur they can go months and years before seeing any resoultion. For example a recent issue was highlighted with the the game client under windows XP, and instead of resolving the issue they asked players to use a work arond each time they try and log-in. The issue still persists as of this posting.

4. Community Feedback: The Development team treats the player community like they have leprosy. They do not engage the playerbase, they make no attempt to provide timely updates about game issues or downtime, there is virtually no information about upcoming features or development goals.

5. Customer Support: If you run into issues with your account the support staff will not discuss those problems with you, if they do not like something you have said, or done you can and will have your account terminated with no forum for resolution. The enforcement of game rules is incredibly selective. There are witch hunts and reporting bridages that attempt to get popular and infamous players banned.

Let me repeat that, If you are even suspected of breaking rules your account, all of your invested time and money will be deleted and cease to exist with no ability to speak for or represent yourself. End of the line, Account terminated. Start another and spend more money!

The primary draw for players like myself is the hardcore and dedicated community that's a joy to spend time with and battle against. Like most games past their prime it's the friends and community itself that keep you around.

The bottom line for me is, Toxic Dev and Support/CSR team. The music and visuals are way past the use-by date, The gameplay itself can be fun for a few months but gets stale very quickly as feature development is not something that happens here.

leaving Stronghold Kingdoms feels like the end of an abusive one-sided relationship that was only in it for the money, I can't say I'll miss it.
