As a fan of Euro Truck Simulator 2, I really like American Truck Simulator after 20 hours of playing.

Compared to ETS2, there are some new game elements such as roaming police cars (giving speeding tickets if they're near you) and different parking possibilities (harder spots for more XP or easier spots for less XP).

However, by far the biggest difference is the world map. Although it isn't very large yet (only California and Nevada for now), it is beautifully designed. Both cities and remote areas (e.g. in Nevada) feel much more authentic compared to ETS2.

Mostly the same gameplay, yet in a beautiful new world with the promise of many (paid) map expansions to come... Highly recommended for fellow ETS2 fans.
