Word of warning: If you don't like unforgiving games that give you no option for difficulting scaling, nor have a good amount of patience - this game isn't for you.

This game gets so much right with this opening chapter you get to play, everything from the atmosphere to the scares are tasteful and well planned out. While a few of the later scares are predictable, they by no means ruin the atmosphere or tension, and this game has a lot of tension.

In short, what this game gets right:
• Excellent atmosphere
• Tension is built up and kept up throughout the experience
• Beautiful environment, game ran very well for me (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB VRAM, 16 GB RAM)
• Excellent sound design
• Manual saving, and good autosave spots
• No game breaking bugs
• Overall great polish
• And so much more that I can't get to without getting into the meat of what you can play

Now here some details that aren't potential deal-breakers in my opinion, but details you should know:
• The majority of the game mechanics are well explained, but are going to take some getting use to for just about anyone.
• The inventory system is weird and takes some getting use to, but isn't game breaking.
• There are some clipping errors in the environment, and items can get stuck on the environment sometimes.
• The 'esc' key does not pause the game, if you press that button when something bad is happening you're a ♥♥♥♥♥ and you're going to die. Be a man.
• While some of the mechanics are similar to Amensia, the way the game plays and how you play it are very different. For the people who have seen gameplay of Amnesia or played it themselves, these similarities are going to through you for a loop and probably get you killed. In this game you do not hide from the enemies nor is there neccessarily an escape from them. Your best bet is to try to keep your sanity up and push through the challenges ahead.

Now as for what's going to be the main deal-breaker in this game, well it all comes down to one really big point:
• Whether or not you have the patience to adapt and handle the amount of times you are going to die. Once you get into the meat of the game, this game relies on a lot of trial and error on figuring out where and what event in the house or area is going to make you progress. While the game does give you some some very subtle (and not so subtle) visual and sound queues on where you should go, they can be easy to miss at times if your not paying attention.

Final Notes: I wish I had Rose as my neighbor, and that Silent Hill 4 easter egg made this game worth it.

This game is absolutely amazing, believe me when I say I've never had so much in enjoyment in a game since Half-Life and Counter-Strike when I was itty bitty. I absolutely recommend at least giving this game a look and/or buy, and reading many of the other reviews on here.
